BJRI is a leading government research organization dedicated to jute, natural fibers, textile innovation, and agricultural research in Bangladesh.Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI) is one of the oldest agricultural research institutions in Bangladesh. Established in 1974, the institute conducts research on high-yielding jute and fiber crop varieties, production management, seed production and preservation, value-added jute products, jute textiles, and marketing. BJRI currently operates 12 research divisions, including agricultural research, technical research, jute textile research, and planning, training, and communication. It also manages regional research centers, sub-centers, and a gene bank containing around 6,000 jute and related fiber crop germplasm collections.
